Sam Cheung Ho-sum (Chinese: 張可森; born 17 August 1993) is a Hong Kong social activist and member of the Tuen Mun District Council for San Hui.

Biography

Cheung was educated at the Hong Kong Baptist University and took lessons of lyricist Chow Yiu-fai. He later joined the Composers and Authors Society of Hong Kong (CASH) in 2018 and began to writing lyrics for songs.[1]

Cheung was one of the young activists who ran in the 2019 District Council election. He ran against pro-Beijing incumbent Kwu Hon-keung in San Hui under the banner of "Unity of San Hui" He received 3,276 votes and was elected to the Tuen Mun District Council. He later joined the new localist group Tuen Mun Community Network.

Cheung ran in the pro-democracy primaries for the 2020 Legislative Council election in the New Territories West constituency. He came in second by receiving 35,513 votes, surpassing veteran and incumbent democrats was nominated as one of the six candidates in the general election.[2]
