Big Bang Night in Canada is the official branding for a programming block that started in autumn 2012 on the Canadian CTV networks between 8 and 10 p.m. ET/PT on Saturday nights.

The programming block's name is a portmanteau of The Big Bang Theory, the American sitcom from CBS that will play during the block, and Hockey Night In Canada, a show that airs on CBC Television during that same time block. Due to the NHL strike, CBC is only broadcasting previous games instead of those of the now-cancelled 2012-2013 season. Likewise, Big Bang Night in Canada also plays reruns of previous episodes. Unlike Hockey Night, new Big Bang episodes do play every Thursday at 8 ET/PT, but they are not branded as Big Bang Night.

Bell Media's stated goal for the show is "to bring even more viewers and advertisers to CTV on Saturday nights in primetime."[1]
