A Wind component chart provides crosswind and head/tail wind components, appropriate to the runway headings, reported wind velocity and direction.

Test pilots use crosswind and headwind component charts to calculate the headwind and crosswind component for any given wind direction and wind velocity. This enables them to judge whether a plane can be safely land in given crosswinds.[1]
