He is very duty conscious, that even when he finds his own kith and kin and those, to whom he should remain beholden for his life, guilty of breaking the law, he rises above his mental conflict and performs his duty without swerving from the path of truth and justice. He does not mind "booking" his own beloved for meting out punishment when he discovers her guilty of theft. The film ends with the reunion of the lovers and the sacrificing soul, having given away her eyesight to the police officer, entering prison as an atonement for the crime committed by her early in her life. |

Release and reception
Alli was released on 5 March 1964.[4] T. M. Ramachandran of Sport and Pastime positively reviewed the film for the performances of Rajendran, Vijayakumari, Janaki and the supporting cast, in addition to Nagesh's comedy and Sundarababu's cinematography.[1]
