List of episodes

The fourth season of the American television series Legends of Tomorrow, was ordered in April 2018 and is to begin airing on October 22, 2018, on The CW.

Premise

After killing the demon Mallus, the Legends are ready to ease off the gas. Sara Lance and her team join Ava Sharpe and the Time Bureau to help clean up the last few remaining anachronisms. The job seems straightforward enough until John Constantine arrives to inform them that, in solving one major problem, they have created another, much larger one. When the Legends let time crumble in order to release and defeat Mallus, the barrier between worlds softened. History is now infected with "Fugitives" – magical creatures from myths, fairytales, and legends. Having been expelled throughout time by people like Constantine, these Fugitives are now returning to our world in droves and making a real mess of things. As the Time Bureau is distrustful of and ill-equipped to deal with magic, the Legends must team up with Constantine to set history back on track.[1]

Production

Development

In April 2018, The CW renewed Legends of Tomorrow for a fourth season.[2] Executive producer Phil Klemmer said the season would go deep into the "world of fantastic myths and monsters",[3] without abandoning the time travel nature of the series,[4] and further explore the Time Bureau, which was introduced in season 3.[5]

Casting

Returning series regulars from the previous season include Brandon Routh, Caity Lotz, Dominic Purcell, Nick Zano, Maisie Richardson-Sellers and Tala Ashe.[1] Jes Macallan, Matt Ryan and Courtney Ford, who recurred in the same season, were promoted to regular status for the fourth season.[6][7] Klemmer said at least one of the Legends would "break bad" in the season.[4] Keiynan Lonsdale, who portrayed Wally West as a regular in the latter half of the third season, will not return in the same capacity for the fourth season.[8]

Filming

Production for the season is set to begin on July 5, 2018, in Vancouver, British Columbia, and conclude on January 24, 2019.[9]

Broadcast

The season is set to begin airing in the United States on The CW on October 22, 2018.[10]
