Richard M. Locke is a scholar on labor rights[1] and corporate social responsibility[2], and is the current provost of Brown University[3].
Previously, at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Locke was the Alvin J. Siteman Chair in Entrepreneurship. He also served as chair of MIT's Political Science Department and deputy dean in the MIT Sloan School of Management.[4]
Locke was named the Schreiber Family Professor of Political Science and International and Public Affairs at Brown University in January of 2018, and Brown University’s 13th provost in July of 2015.[5]
Locke currently serves as a member of the Council on Foreign Relations[6], and the International Labour Organization (ILO) and the International Finance Corporation (IFC) Better Work Program Advisory Committee[7]. He has also served as chair of the Academic Advisory Board at Apple Inc.[8]
