This is a list of awards and nominations for Lupita Nyong'o. She earned her first Academy Award for her featured film debut as Patsey in 12 Years a Slave (2013), where she became the first Mexican and Kenyan actress to win the award.[1][2]Nyong'o was also nominated for several awards including a Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress, a BAFTA Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role and two Screen Actors Guild Awards including Best Supporting Actress, which she won.[3]

Nyong'o starred in Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015) as a force-sensitive alien bar owner, Maz Kanata. She was nominated for the Best Supporting Actress at the 42nd Saturn Awards and Best Virtual Performance at the 2016 MTV Movie Awards for her role.

Nyong'o made her Broadway debut as a teenage orphan in the critically acclaimed play Eclipsed (2015). She earned a Theatre World Award for Outstanding Broadway or Off-Broadway Debut Performance and an Obie Award for a Distinguished Performance by an Ensemble. In addition, she was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Actress in a Play nomination for her performance, Outstanding Actress in a Play at the Outer Critics Circle Award, and a Distinguished Performance Award at the Drama League Award for her performance.
