The final of the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy is scheduled to played on 18 June 2013 at the The Oval, London. This was the 8th ICC Champions Trophy. Pakistan qualified into the final by defeating the hosts England in the first semi-final at the |Sophia Gardens, Cardiff on 14 June 2017. It was Pakistan's 1st ICC Champions Trophy final.

Ranked 8th in ODI rankings, Pakistan had a poor start in the tournament, which improved in each of the game they played. They were thrashed by India in the first game by 124 runs,[1] but then went to beat South Africa comprehensively[2] and then Sri Lanka in a thrilling end[3] to be the second in of Group B. They They brought their improved performance to the semi final match too where they beat hosts England by 8 wickets to reach the final for the first time.[4]
