The lollipop catshark, Cephalurus cephalus, is a catshark of the family Scyliorhinidae, the only member of the genus Cephalurus, found in the eastern central Pacific Ocean off southern Baja California, Mexico and the Gulf of California between latitudes 32° N and 15° S, at depths of between 155 and 930 m. Its length is up to 28 cm.
The lollipop catshark is found on the upper continental slope and outermost shelf. The expanded branchial region of this shark suggests that they are adapted to bottom areas with low dissolved oxygen levels. With little information available, reproductive mode could either be ovoviviparous or oviparous - paired eggs are laid.
