The Asramam Link Road is one of the important city roads of Kollam.[1] It starts from Kappalandimukku near Polayathode in the East and ends at Thoppilkadavu in the West of the city.[2][3] It is one among the important four-lane roads in the city. The link road is expected to complete in two phases. Phase-I has been completed before some years.[4] Construction works of Phase-II between Kollam KSRTC Bus Station and Thoppilkadavu is yet to start.
Importance of Link road in Kollam City

They are Polayathode-Thattamala, Anchalumoodu & Kottiyam.[5] So the demand for a new road through the outer side of Downtown Kollam to avoid the complex Chinnakada junction got intensified.[6] Kollam Bypass project is the most neglected bypass project in the state. 9 km stretch of this project is still remaining. This link road is now serving the city as a Mini bypass, by avoiding the heavy rush in Chinnakada junction. Kollam Development Authority had approved Rs. 1.6 Crores for the project's Phase-I.
