TwickFolk (previously known as Twickenham Folk Club) is an acoustic music club in Twickenham, south-west London. Established in January 1983,[1][2] and now one of the best known and most highly respected folk clubs in the South East of England,[3] it is run, not for profit, by a small group of volunteers.[2]

TwickFolk organises gigs on Sunday evenings, usually at the Cabbage Patch pub in London Road, Twickenham,[4] featuring British and North American acoustic folk and roots-based music. The evening usually consists of a main "guest" preceded by a support act or several floor spots.

Past guests include Nels Andrews,[5] Ben Bedford,[6][7] Maggie Boyle and Paul Downes,[8] Sunjay Brayne,[9] Chuck Brodsky,[10] The Carrivick Sisters,[11] Olivia Chaney,[12][13] Cathryn Craig and Brian Willoughby,[14] Kris Drever,[15] Earl Okin,[16] Carrie Elkin,[17] Mark Erelli,[18] Stephen Fearing,[19][20] Grand Union,[21][22] Jack Harris,[23] Fabian Holland,[24] Hatful of Rain (British band),[25] Diana Jones,[26] Martin Karran and Sara O'Keefe,[27] Will Kaufman,[28] Lau,[4] Madison Violet,[29] Emily Maguire,[30] Flossie Malavialle,[31] Iain Matthews,[32] Jim Moray,[33] Pete Morton,[34] Linde Nijland,[35] Earl Okin,[36] Ellis Paul,[37] Rod Picott,[38] Rebecca Pronsky,[39] Kim Richey,[40] Justin Rutledge,[41] Liz Simcock,[42] Stephen Simmons,[12][43] Kath Tait,[44] Soiree,[12][45][46] Southern Tenant Folk Union,[47] Greg Trooper,[48] Kevin Welch[49] and Chris Wood.

Occasionally TwickFolk organises singers' nights. These consist of either several performed floor spots or an unplugged singaround where everyone sits around a table and those who want to sing or play an instrument can take turns to do so.[50]

Noel Murphy's 1997 CD A Session was recorded live at the club.[51]

In December 2008 TwickFolk hosted an afternoon event, featuring Scottish singer Karine Polwart, to mark the 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and to raise awareness of and funds for Amnesty International.[52] TwickFolk has also held charity nights benefiting the British Heart Foundation, Children in Need and local charities.[1][2]
