David Charvet (born David Franck Guez; May 15, 1972) is a French singer and actor.
Career
Charvet born in Lyon, France to Paul Guez and Christiane Charvet caught his big break in 1992 on the American television program Baywatch as Matt Brody. He was credited as David Charvet on the program, using his mother's maiden name rather than his actual family name. He remained on Baywatch for three full seasons, until 1995.
Charvet also appeared as Craig Field on Melrose Place from 1996–98. Between 1995–99, he appeared in Seduced and Betrayed, Derby, Angel Flight Down and Meet Prince Charming. Charvet left acting in 1999 to concentrate on his musical career.
In 2006, he returned to acting in a movie directed by Roger Christian called Prisoners of the Sun which was only completed and released in 2013. He also appeared in the film Green Flash released in the US on July 14, 2009 as Beach Kings.[1] The same year, he was a contestant in ABC's summer reality show The Superstars (2009 edition) and came in 3rd with partner Lisa Leslie. In 2010, he was a contestant in the French reality show La Ferme Célébrités (French version of The Farm). The show was broadcast on TF1.
Interests
In June 2010, Charvet joined The Blue Seals, a non profit organization aimed at providing a rapid response to environmental emergencies, focusing on oceans preservation,[2] and is member of its Board of Directors.[3] The non profit works on raising awareness on the Deepwater Horizon oil spill, helping French company Ecoceane's ships designed to collect floating waste and hydrocarbons to take part in the cleaning.[4]
Personal life
Charvet was born in Lyon, France. His father is the Tunisian Jewish businessman Paul Guez. [citation needed] His mother, Christiane Charvet, is French.[5] He was raised in a Jewish household.[6]
He won a green card through the Morrison visa lottery in the early 1990s. Until recently, Charvet lived in his native France, where he toured (among other parts of Europe) as a singer.
Charvet and Brooke Burke (not to be confused with fellow Baywatch alum Brooke Burns) have two children together: a daughter, Heaven Rain (born January 8, 2007), and a son, Shaya Braven (born March 5, 2008). Brooke already had two daughters, Neriah and Sierra, from her first marriage to plastic surgeon Garth Fisher.[7] David and Brook officially married on August 12, 2011 with Brooke announcing that she would be taking her husband's last name and be known as Brooke Burke Charvet.[8]and reside in California.[9] On November 8, 2012, Burke Charvet announced she had thyroid cancer and underwent surgery.[10] On December 12, 2012, she made another announcement that all cancer had been removed.[11]
