Legends of Chima is a TV series based on the toy of the same name, made in the same vein as and by the same company as Lego Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu. The series premiered on January 16, 2013 on the Cartoon Network in the United States of America at 7:30pm EST. It also premiered on January 18, 2013 on Teletoon in Canada.

Story

Chima is a pristine land filled with anthropomorphic animals such as Eagles, Lions, Bears, Gorillas, Rhinos, Crocodiles, Wolves, Ravens, Skunks, Beavers, and Foxes.

Once at peace and in a state of balance, now they are at war over Chi, a mystical energy source which gives energy to animals and power to their mighty vehicles. The tribes have formed into two factions who now fight over the energy source: Lions, Eagles, and Gorillas for peace and Ravens, Wolves, and Crocodiles for gain. For Laval, this now involves fighting against his former friend Cragger who has become a leader of the opposing forces.

Characters

Lion Tribe

The Lion Tribe reside in the Lion Chi Temple where they equally distribute the Chi to all the Animal Tribes. The Lion Tribe's government consists of a monarch and the council of elders. The Lion Tribe is allies with the Eagle Tribe, the Gorilla Tribe, and the Bear Tribe.

  • Laval - He is the Prince of the Lion Tribe, allies with Eris, and the Gorillas and Bears.
  • Lagravis - He is the King of the Lion Tribe, father of Laval, and friends with King Cronimus.
  • Lennox - He is the brave warrior and foot soldier of the Lion Tribe.
  • Leonidas - He is a brave warrior member of the Lion Tribe.
  • Lothar - He is an Elder Lion of the Lion Tribe.
  • Logas - He is another Elder Lion of the Lion Tribe.
  • Lavertus - He is Lagravis's evil brother and so is the evil uncle of Laval.
  • Liona - She is a member of the Lion Tribe.
  • Lion Warriors - They are the generic foot soldiers and guards of the Lion tribe who look very similar to Leonidas in appearance.
  • Lewar - Member of the Lion Tribe.
  • Lenneie - Member of the Lion Tribe.
  • Logz - Member of the Lion Tribe, and a triplet of his two brothers, and one sister.
  • Lohg - Member of the Lion Tribe, and the second eldest of his brother and sister.
  • Loha - Member of the Lion Tribe, and the sister of the triplets.

Eagle Tribe

The Eagle Tribe live on the cliffs and can fly without vehicles. The Eagle Tribe has a ruling council that leads them. The Eagle Tribe is allies with the Lion Tribe, the Gorilla Tribe, and the Bear Tribe.

  • Eris - She is the Princess of the Eagle Tribe and the current best friend of Laval. She aids him in his quest to protect the Chi and bring peace to the land. Many Chima inhabitants often see her and Laval as a couple, which is something that both flatly deny there. She has a crush on Laval and though he knows it she won't admit it.
  • Ewald - She is the leader of the Eagle Tribe's ruling council. She wears a white and dark blue robe. She is also the mother of the two eagles Eris and Equila. Ewald finds it hard being married to Razar with him being a thief.
  • Equila - He is the Prince of the Eagle tribe and holds judge in a golden CHI competition in the game Laval's journey. He also is the Speedorz tournament announcer in the T.V. series. Equila thinks it is funny to tease his sister who is 2 years younger than him Eris but when she is in danger he gets serious.
  • Eglor - He is the dark blue member and soldier of the Eagle Tribe who is good with inventing new high-technology gadgets and he thinks Eris is smart and because he is Equila's best friend he will always protect Eris. He cannot say no to her so he will always help Laval too.
  • Ewar - He is a member and soldier of the Eagle Tribe. Ewar is the henchman to Ewald.
  • Eagle Warriors - They are the light blue generic warriors of the Eagle Tribe.

Gorilla Tribe

The Gorilla Tribe are known to have a passion for flowers and fruits. The Gorilla Tribe is allies with the Lion Tribe, the Eagle Tribe, and the now the Croc Tribe.

  • Gorzan - He is one of the two co-leaders of the Gorilla Tribe (along with Gordo).
  • Gordo - Gordo is the blue gorilla and one of the two co-leaders of the Gorilla Tribe (along with Gorzan). He is also Gorzan's brother and the spiritual leader of the Gorilla Tribe but like Windra broke their voice boxes and have to wait for them to heal.
  • Grumlo - He is the father of Gorzan and Gordo.
  • G'Loona - She is a member of the Gorilla Tribe, who is an orphan girl who looks up to Gorzan. Crooler, Crawley and Crug kidnap her to make the heroes try to find them during the one day in which the Wolves would go berserk in Chima.
  • Grizzam - He is the white Gorilla Warrior of the Gorilla Tribe.
  • Gornay - He is a reddish-brown foot soldier of the Gorilla Tribe who leads the other Gorilla Warriors into battle. Years ago for killing Sunstar the leader of the skunks and nearly every skunk of the tribe leaving Skinnet alive has once experienced the outlands.
  • Gorilla Warriors - They are the foot soldiers of the Gorilla tribe who look a lot like Gornay in appearance.

Crocodile Tribe

The Crocodile Tribe reside in their swamp hideout. They were the ones who have started the War for the Chi. The Crocodile Tribe is ruled by a king. The Crocodile Tribe is allies with the Wolf Tribe (until "Foxtrot"), and the Raven Tribe (until "Attack on Eagle Spire"). With Cragger now free from Crooler's control upon her plans being exposed, the Crocodiles are no longer at war with the Lion Tribe.

  • Crominus - He is the Former King of the Crocodile Tribe, the husband of Queen Crunket, the father of Cragger and Crooler. Crominus has never really seen eye-to-eye with the Lion Tribe, but he agrees to work with them (at Cragger's request) to fight against Crooler and the Wolves after the Wolves turned their back on the Pledge of the Pack to the current Crocodile King, Cragger. King Crominus (and Queen Crunket) had fell down into a giant sink hole, which is called the Gorge of Eternal Depth, inside their Crocodile tank during a battle with the Lions in "The Legends of Chima" episode (episode 1) — which was causing Cragger, via hypnosis of Crooler's flower to do want she wants him to do there, to accuse the Lion tribe of them in being behind this and declared war on them, after he became the new King of the Crocodile Tribe. In "Foxtrot", it's revealed that Crominus has survived the fall into the Gorge of Eternal Depth and has found the "Pledge of the Pack" document that Crooler and Worriz had thrown down there.
  • Crunket - She is the former Queen of the Crocodile Tribe, the wife of Crominus, and the mother of Cragger and Crooler. Crunket (and Crominus) had fell down into a giant sinkhole, which is called the Gorge of Eternal Depth, inside their Crocodile tank — which was causing Cragger, via hypnosis of Crooler's flower to do what she wants him to do there, to accuse the Lion tribe of them in being behind this and declared war on them, after he become the new King of the Crocodile Tribe.
  • Cragger - He is the current King and former Prince of the Crocodile Tribe, the son of Crominus and Crunket, and the twin brother of Crooler. Him being manipulated by his sister Crooler to do what she wants him to do there, he now seeks dominion over Chima and its resources. He became the King of the Crocodile Tribe after the Crocodile tank that was carrying his parents fell down the Gorge of Eternal Depth. He was best friends with Laval until "The Great Story", where he turned against Laval because of him in being hypnotised by Crooler's flower to do as she wishes for him to do there, which was for him to destroy the Lions, especially Laval and Lagravis, (and their allies) and steal all of their CHI. Then, for the first ten episodes of the season, he was an enemy of Laval until partway through episode 10, "Foxtrot". In that episode, Crooler deems him useless and teams up with the Wolves to steal the Chi. Cragger finds them stealing the CHI, (and figures out the effect of her plant in the meantime) and is outnumbered by Chi powered Wolves, before Laval enters and helps him fight against the wolves. Crooler then throws the "Pledge of the Pack" document down the Gorge of Eternal Death, destroying all of Cragger's power over the Wolves. After this, Cragger kicks Crooler out of the Croc Swamp Hideout in the next episode.
  • Crooler - She is the Princess of the Crocodile Tribe [although she is the de facto leader of the Crocodile Tribe currently there, which is in thanks to her in mind-controlling her brother, Cragger, for him to do what she wants him to do there (thus him in becoming her mind slave), so she acts like as though she is the Queen — however illegitimately in nature — of the Crocodile Tribe], the daughter of Crominus and Crunket, and the twin sister of Cragger. She is the actual mastermind of the Crocodiles' plans, hence her de facto leadership status of the Crocodile Tribe, since she used a hypnotic flower to force Cragger into starting a war against the Lions. Later, in "Foxtrot", she betrays Cragger by her (along with Worriz) throwing the "Pledge of the Pack" document down the Gorge of Eternal Depth to destroy Cragger's power over the Wolves. She is kicked out of the Croc Swamp Hideout in the following episode, after her flower dried out and lost its effect.
  • Crug - He is one of Cragger's two lead henchmen, is brown in colour, has a lower jaw of his mouth that is made of metal, and is a big, strong member of the Crocodile Tribe who is second-in-command to Crawley.
  • Crawley - He is one of Cragger's two lead henchmen, is olive green in colour and leads Cragger's (really Crooler's) Crocodile Warriors into battle. He is a quick and nervous member of the Crocodile Tribe.
  • Crocodile Warriors (Type 1) - They are the generic foot soldiers and guards of the Crocodile Tribe who look very similar to Crawley in appearance.
  • Crocodile Warriors (Type 2) - They are the generic foot soldiers of the Crocodile Tribe with red scales on top of their heads that are similar to Cragger's scales on top of his head.
  • Crocodile Warriors (Type 3) - They are the generic foot soldiers of the Crocodile tribe who look very similar to Crug in appearance.

  • Buchuma - He is the King of the Bear Tribe.
  • Bladvix - He is a member of the Bear Tribe (and may be the Prince of the Bear Tribe) and is a friend of Laval. He almost always sleeps — no matter on where he is or what he is (supposed to be) doing there, even if it is a Speedor race competition for the Golden CHI — in Chima, and he thinks that anyone who is whispering to him is shouting in volume even though he does ignore loud sounds. In addition, he loves to eat honey.
  • Balkar - He is a member of the Bear Tribe.
  • Bungey - He is a member of the Bear Tribe.
  • Bumpy - He is a member of the Bear Tribe.

  • Bustard - He is a member of the Bear Tribe.
  • Bursus - He is a member of the Bear Tribe.
  • Belchiar - He is a member of the Bear Tribe.
  • Bataxis - He is a member of the Bear Tribe.
  • Brinno - He is a member of the Bear Tribe.

Wolf Tribe

The Wolf Tribe is allies with the Crocodile Tribe and the Raven Tribe.

  • Worriz - He is the leader (but is more like a diplomat) of the Wolf Tribe and is an ally to Cragger until he betrays him in "Foxtrot" by him turning his back on the "Pledge of the Pack" commitment to the Crocodile Tribe.
  • Wilhurt - He is a black colored foot soldier and member of the Wolf Tribe. He needs to be kept occupied there so he doesn't go reckless on the other wolves, as he loves to harm other inhabitants of Chima, especially if they are his enemy. He is a truly dangerous Wolf.
  • Windra - She is a white coloured, female member of the Wolf Tribe. She has a black emtional heart, so she doesn't care about anyone elses feelings at all, even when Worriz wants to go on a romantic date with her!
  • Wakz - He is the cunning elder of the Wolf Tribe.
  • Winzar - He is a ferocious foot soldier member of the Wolf Tribe who has big scars over his left eye..
  • Wonald - He is a young, child member of the Wolf Tribe. He's the only vegetarian of the tribe, seems to be friends with G'Loona the Gorilla in "The Hundred Year Moon" when she feeds him bananas and seems to be the only good Wolf Tribe member, so he often prefers to not be with the other Wolves.
  • Wofrod - He is a member of the Wolf Tribe.
  • Wobbir - He is a member of the Wolf Tribe.
  • Wonnor - He is a member of the Wolf Tribe.
  • Wolf Warriors (Type 1) - They are the generic foot soldiers of the Wolf Tribe who look very similar to Winzar in appearance.
  • Wolf Warriors (Type 2) - They are the generic foot soldiers of the Wolf tribe who look very similar to Wakz in appearance.
  • Wolf Warriors (Type 3) - They are the generic foot soldiers of the Wolf Tribe who look very similar to Wonald in appearance but with longer legs.

Raven Tribe

The Raven Tribe is allies with the Crocodile Tribe (until "Attack on Eagle Spire") and the Wolf Tribe.

  • Razar - He is the Prince of the Raven Tribe and will ally himself to anyone with the right price tag, regardless if it is right or wrong in morality. He is a smooth talker who will trick anyone and everyone (even his allies the Wolves and Crocodiles) into giving away their possessions, so he is a master con-artist. Therefore, he is extremely greedy in character and personality, even for a Raven.
  • Rawzom - He is the unofficial King of the Raven Tribe. He will do anything for weapons.
  • Razcal - He is a foot soldier and the accountant of the Raven Tribe who is very greedy in character and personality. He leads some packs in the Raven Tribe.
  • Rizzo - He is the leader of some packs of the Raven Tribe who is also greedy in character and personality.
  • Ripnik - He is the Master Thief of the Raven Tribe; therefore the other Ravens have him steal things from other tribes when it is more difficult to do so because of the said things that are about to be stolen by the Ravens from other tribes are well-guarded by the said tribes, such as the Wolves' most prized possession the Mother Tooth of the Mother Wolf. He also leads some packs of the Raven Tribe.
  • Raven Warriors (Type 1) - They are the generic warriors of the Raven Tribe who look similar to Razcal in appearance.
  • Raven Warriors (Type 2) - They are the generic warriors of the Raven Tribe who look similar to Rizzo in appearance.
  • Raven Warriors (Type 3) - They are the generic warriors of the Raven tribe who look similar to Ripnik in appearance.

Rhinoceros Tribe

The Rhinoceros Tribe have no allies and are currently neutral.

  • Rogon - He is the apparent King of the Rhino Tribe, who has a big romantic crush on Eris in "Foxtrot", much to her uneasyness with this, and who will do anything to protect her from harm.
  • Runk - He is a foot soldier and brawler member of the Rhinoceros Tribe.
  • Rukus - He is a foot soldier and brawler member of the Rhinoceros Tribe.
  • Rhinoceros Warrior (Type 1) - They are the generic foot soldiers of the Rhinoceros Tribe who look very similar to Runk.
  • Rhinoceros Warrior (Type 2) - They are the generic foot soldiers of the Rhinoceros Tribe who look very similar to Rukus.

Beaver Tribe

  • Bevar - He is the apparent leader of the Beaver Tribe who is greyish-tan in color.
  • Buber - He is a foreman worker and warrior member of the Beaver Tribe who is brown and white in color. He loves to fix things and do any other kind of work.
  • Bubic - He is a foreman worker and warrior member of the Beaver Tribe who is brown and white in colour. He also likes to fix things and do any kind of work.
  • Beaturd - He is a goofy beaver who prefers to fool around and have some fun playing there rather than do any work.
  • Beaver Workers and Warriors - They are the common workers and foot soldiers of the Beaver tribe who are brown and white in color.

Skunk Tribe

  • Skinnet - He is a nomadic member of the Skunk Tribe, who always seems to cause a stink literally at exactly the worst possible moment, which makes it extremely difficult for most other inhabitants of Chima to become friends with him. He serves as a negotiator to the Lion Tribe and the Crocodile Tribe. He is the last surviving member of his tribe.

Fox Tribe

  • Furtivo - He is a nomadic member of the Fox Tribe. He is also called Furty. He always likes to cause mischief and blends into the crowd so he won't get caught in doing the said mischief — which is what happened in "Foxtrot" in where he created a major distraction with his mischief-making to most of the other tribes which caused a big riot amongst them, them not knowing that Furtivo was the one who was responsible for the said mischief and blamed each other instead, which had allowed Crooler and some of the Wolves to sneak into the Lion Temple and steal the Chi within it virtually undetected until it was too late for Laval and the other Lions, Cragger, Eris and Rhogon to stop them in time.

Peacock Tribe

  • Dom De La Woosh - The second fastest Speedor rider in the history of CHIMA. He was originally the fastest until 'Episode 8 - The Biggest Race Ever' where the Shadow Wind turned out to be the fastest. Dom De La Woosh is the only life form in CHIMA, where the first letter of his name, isn't the same with the first letter of his species.
  • Par El Nash - Proud and royal King of the Peacock Tribe. NOT father of Dom De La Woosh.
  • Pel Dom Woh - The father of Dom De La Woosh, and member of the Peacock Tribe. Well, he was, until he was killed centuries ago when the Wolves jacked CHIMA.
  • Par Per Pla - Member of the Peacock Tribe, and records every Peacock Race, as the Peacocks were the ones to pass down racing to all the other tribes.
  • Pe Pa Pl - Brother of Dom De La Woosh, and member of the Peacock Tribe.
  • Per Op Nal - Member of the Peacock Tribe, and uncles to Dom De La Woosh, ad Pe Pa Pl.
  • Po Po Po - Elder of the Peacock Tribe.

Legend Beasts

The Legend Beasts are a group of animals that did not drink the Chi from Mount Cavora and have left Chima in where they were prophesied to return there when they are needed the most.

  • Lion Legend Beast - The Lion Legend Beast is an ordinary lion who was seen in a flashback in "The Great Story" episode, where it (among 4 other Legend Beasts) fled from Chima into the Outlands. It returned to the jungle where he saved Laval from drowning after he was pushed into the river by Cragger in "The Great Story" episode. The Lion Legend Beast allowed Laval to ride him when it came to fighting off the Crocodiles, Wolves, and Ravens.
  • (Mother) Wolf Legend Beast - The only evidence of the Wolf Legend Beast was the Mother Tooth. In episode 6, the Mother Tooth was stolen by the Ravens, most notably Ripnik. This caused the Wolves to go mad in emotion with rage against the Eagle Tribe.
  • Eagle Legend Beast - It is an ordinary eagle that was seen in a flashback in "The Great Story" episode, where it (among 4 other Legend Beasts) fled from Chima into the Outlands.
  • Gorilla Legend Beast - It is an ordinary gorilla that was seen in a flashback in "The Great Story" episode, where it (among 4 other Legend Beasts) fled from Chima into the Outlands.
  • Bear Legend Beast - It is an ordinary bear that was seen in a flashback in "The Great Story" episode, where it (among 4 other Legend Beasts) fled from Chima into the Outlands.
  • Rhinoceros Legend Beast - It is an ordinary rhinoceros that was seen in a flashback in "The Great Story" episode, where it (among 4 other Legend Beasts) fled from Chima into the Outlands.

Other Animals and Animal Warriors

The following do not fit in the category of the other tribes.

  • Dom De La Woosh - He is a peacock animal warrior and the most famous racer in all of Chima, who won every Speedor race he entered in. He recently came out of retirement to compete in a speedor race (at Cragger's request) for the most powerful Golden CHI ever in the history of Chima, although he placed 3rd, with Shadow Wind and Cragger ahead of him. He is the first character introduced whose name doesn't begin with the same first letter as his species's name.
  • Plovar - He is a small plover that is obsessed with dental hygiene and drops in to clean Cragger's teeth (and once even Crooler's teeth) from time to time. He has a British accent of the English variety.
  • Shadow Wind - He is a "strangely silent and highly skilled mystery rider" (and an animal warrior). He won the most powerful Golden Chi Orb in Chima's history. A helmet conceals his identity and it is unknown on what tribe he belongs to in Chima (though his helmet resembles the head of a warthog).
  • Spindle - He is an animal warrior of which on what type of anthropomorphic animal in which he is supposed to be in Chima is unknown at this time (though he could be a member of the rumored Spider Tribe).

1"The Legend of Chima (1)[1]"Peder PedersenJohn DerevlanyJanuary 16, 2013 (2013-01-16)[1]1011.5
Laval and Cragger were best friends. Laval always followed rules but Cragger wanted to sneak into the Lion Castle to check out the Pool of Chi (a blue sphere of energy that could give you absolute power). Then Laval saw that Cragger lied and he put a chi in his chest which gave him a fierce personality and he started hitting and destroying everything. When the lion guards caught him, his father came and caused a great confusion between Laval's father and him. Cragger promised he wouldn't do it again, but he lied and went to get another chi orb. Laval's father called Cragger's father to report again what he had done and the Lions and Crocs started a war. But suddenly, Cragger's parents fell into a hole in the ground stuck in a vehicle and Cragger was claiming that if only they have given that chi to him that wouldn't had happened but later accepted that it was his fault. It is then revealed that Cragger's parents are both alive but trapped at the bottom of the chasm. As they began looking for a way out his father worries that he wasn't able to warn his son not to listen to his sister since he must now lead the tribe in his place. The episode ends with Crooler trying to persuade a depressed Cragger to wage war with the Lions though Cragger knew that they were innocent.
2"The Great Story (2)[1]"Peder PedersenJohn DerevlanyJanuary 16, 2013 (2013-01-16)[1]1021.5
Crawley and Crug try to cheer Cragger up about his parents demise. Cragger knows that the lions are innocent, but Crooler used a hypnotic spray concealed in a flower to make him declare war. Laval's father was giving chi to all the tribes. He tells Laval about the great story about centuries ago the chi had fallen from the sky to earth and animals consisting of the tribes absorbed the chi and hyper-evolved. However, one animal of each tribe didn't absorb the chi and its told that they will come back when they need them the most. The Speedorz race event for the golden Chi was happening in the Lion's castle and was going well with Laval as the winner, though he was sad that Cragger didn't show. Cragger came in started attacking the animals and caused a battle between Laval and him in the forest. Cragger won, but Eris and Gorzan saved Laval when Cragger was about to finish him. While the lions were having their age of becoming ceremony, Cragger constructed an alliance with the wolves (because Worriz hated Laval) and the Ravens (who joined them at the price of few treasures). Laval's father was giving a chi to Laval, but the Crocs, Ravens, and Wolves tribe attacked the castle and a Croc took away Laval's chi. Laval followed him and battled him and saw that the Croc was Cragger. He defeated him and refused to kill him. But when Laval was about to use the Chi, Cragger threw him to the water expecting he'd die. Then the lion from the great story came and saved Laval. Even with the help of the Eagles and Gorillas, Cragger was going to win. But then Laval came now with the lion legend beast. All of Cragger's forces were scared, even Crooler, who started the war. But after a few more whiffs of the hypnotic flower, Cragger plugged an orb of chi into his chest and charged at the Lion Beast. Cragger was simply swatted away. Laval then took the Chi and defeated Cragger, and swore to protect Chi from anyone who tried to steal it.
3"Warrior Within"Peder PedersenJohn DerevlanyMarch 27, 2013 (2013-03-27)1031.5
During the weekly distribution of Chi, Laval is shocked when his father gives Cragger some of the chi orbs even though the crocodiles had previously attacked them. His father says that every tribe in Chima gets chi even if the tribes aren't friendly toward them saying this is an important rule. Laval still thinks that Cragger doesn't deserve any chi and goes after them and demands they give back the chi. Crooler (still controlling her brother) makes him hand over the chi and they return to their tribe saying that the lions didn't want them to have any chi. Hearing this all of the crocs become angry. Eris meets Laval and makes him realize his mistake and they attempt to fix it by returning the chi to the tribe in person. However Cragger taunts him to openly refusing to give back the chi causing the crocodiles to attack the two of them. Not knowing what to do with the chi now Laval tosses it into the bottomless chasm and along with Eris attempts to find the legend beast hoping it will save them once again. Instead they are rescued by reinforcements from the eagles and lions forcing Cragger to retreat due to the wolves and ravens not showing up. Laval sees the legend beast appear briefly and wonders if it did not help him because he took the chi away from the crocodiles or because he threw it away. Everyone is shocked when an earthquake shakes the ground and Eris is concerned as there hasn't been one like this for many years. Later as the two of them make their way home they spot their gorilla friend Gorzan plant a flower that he had been protecting for the whole day. Unknown to Laval and Eris he had got into a fight with the wolves and the ravens causing them to be late.
