Nicki Chapman

Nicki Chapman (b. Herne Bay, Kent on 17th January 1967) is an English television presenter who also works in the British pop music industry.

Nicki's worked her way up in the music industry from being Promotions Assistant at MCA records, aged 21. She did a stint at RCA, where she first met Simon Cowell, as Head of Promotions. A joint partner in the Brilliant! PR company with Nick Godwyn which did PR for among others Spice Girls, Charlotte Church and Billie Piper. She resultantly met Simon Fuller, and joined his management company 19 Entertainment, working with acts including Kylie Minogue, Take That, Annie Lennox, S Club 7, Van Morrison, and M People. In January 2001, she was promoted to the post of Creative Director at 19 Entertainment.

She rose to fame as a judge on the UK editions of the television series Popstars and Pop Idol, and currently works as a presenter of lifestyle programmes for the BBC

Personal life

• One sister Shelley (teacher), twin nephews Douglas and Christopher
• Married to Dave Shackleton, Vice President of BMG, aka Shacky. They met in 1991, and her asked her out within 2weeks - she turned him down, as she did for the next 2years! After her Breast Cancer scare, the first person she called was "Shacky". He proposed a few years later in front of the Blue Mosque in Jerusalem, and they married at Sion Park
