The Vermont Air National Guard (VT ANG) is the air force militia of the State of Vermont, United States of America. It is, along with the Vermont Army National Guard, an element of the Vermont National Guard.

As state militia units, the units in the Vermont Air National Guard are not in the normal United States Air Force chain of command. They are under the jurisdiction of the Vermont National Guard unless they are federalized by order of the President of the United States. The Vermont Air National Guard is headquartered at Burlington Air National Guard Base, and its commander is Colonel David P. Baczewski .

Units

158th Fighter Wing

The 158th Fighter Wing was formed in 1946. From 1989 to 1997, the wing was an Air Defense Unit, with aircraft on 5-minute alert, seven days a week, 24 hours a day located in South Burlington, Vermont. The Vermont Air National Guard is part of the State of Vermont Military Department. Staff consists of Military Title 10 and Title 32 Active Duty, Reserve, Federal Technicians, Traditional Guardsman, State Employees, Federal Civilian and contractor personnel. State Headquarters is at Camp Johnson in Colchester, Vermont.[1]
