Not That Kind is the debut studio album released by American recording artist Anastacia. It was released internationally on July 10, 2000 by Sony Music Entertainment[4] and in the United States and Canada on March 27, 2001 by Epic Records.
Background
The album was primarily produced by Sam Watters, Louis Biancaniello, and Ric Wake, with additional production and co-writing coming from Evan Rogers, Carl Sturken and Ray Ruffin. The album was a commercial flop in the United States, reaching only number one hundred and sixty-eight on the US Billboard 200. However, it was met with extreme chart success overseas, where it entered the top five and the top ten on the majority of the charts in Europe and Oceania. One More Chance is notable as being the first song ever written and performed by Anastacia, in late 1993. Not That Kind was originally written by Anastacia and performed on The Cut in 1998, nearly two years before it's official release. For the album's release in the United States, the tracklisting was adjusted; adding the tracks "Why'd You Lie To Me", "Don'tCha Wanna" and "Late Last Night", the former of which later went on to be included on the international edition of Anastacia's second studio album, Freak of Nature. The American edition also included an enhanced section, containing a link to download the track "Baptize My Soul" on Anastacia's official website. In Australia, the album also contained a bonus enhanced section, containing the music video for "I'm Outta Love". In Latin America, the album was backed with an exclusive B-side recording, "Baptize My Soul", and a remix of "I'm Outta Love" which originally accompanied the single release. In Japan, the album was backed with an exclusive recording, "Nothin' At All", and three remixes of "I'm Outta Love", also from the single release.
