Young Love is the upcoming, third studio album by Irish pop duo Jedward, due for release in Ireland on June 22, 2012.[2]

Background

Shortly after the release of "Victory", Jedward began recording material for their third studio release, tentatively scheduled for release during the second quarter of 2012. It was announced in January 2012 that the duo were set to once again participate in the Eurovision Song Contest, with a track entitled "What's Your Number", penned by the writers of last year's entry, "Lipstick".[3] However, it was announced shortly after that "What's Your Number" had been replaced in favour of "Waterline", a track penned by 70s songwriter Sharon Vaughan and modern-day writer Nick Jarl. "Waterline" debuted on February 9, 2012, to positive reception.[4] "Waterline" was released as the album's lead single on February 24, 2012. In April 2012, the duo announced that their third studio album would be entitled "Young Love". The release date of the album was then confirmed to be June 1, 2012. The date was confirmed via an advert for the release being posted to Jedward's official YouTube account.[5] The album was then made available to pre-order via the official Jedward store, however, it specificially stated that the album would be released "in Ireland long before the rest of the world".[6]

Shortly after, snippets of several tracks from the album were uploaded to the duo's official YouTube account. These include the title track, "Young Love", two other album tracks, "Happens In The Dark" and "P.O.V.", and the album's second official single, and the duo's first self-penned track, "Can't Forget You".[7][8][9] In April 2012, it was revealed that the duo would be releasing a track penned by Irish DJ Colm Hayes, entitled "Put The Green Cape On", as an unofficial single for Euro 2012, in order to raise money for the Irish charity ISPCC. Although not officially being released as a single from the album, Hayes confirmed it's inclusion as a bonus track on the release in a short, spoken sentence at the start of the track's music video.[10] On May 16, 2012, the album's artwork was revealed. The standard edition will feature the pair without their regular quiffs, in a dark, shadowy-style shot.[11] The deluxe edition will come encased in a cardboard box, with the words "Jedward" and "Young Love" engraved into it, as well as an engraved picture of a heart that is sprouting wings. This version will be available in Ireland only.[12] The deluxe edition will feature a cover of Justin Bieber's "Boyfriend".[13]
