Dare to Dream is the upcoming, debut solo studio album released by British grime rapper Dappy, due to be released via Takeover Entertainment Ltd and Island Records.[1] The album will be Dappy's first studio material released since the split of his previous hip-hop band, N-Dubz. The release of the album was announced in July 2011, with Dappy insisting that he "wished to push his music style and motives in alternative directions."[2]
Background
After N-Dubz decided to take an indefinite break to begin work on solo projects, following their departure from American record label Def Jam,[3] it was revealed that Dappy intended to pursue a solo career. He commented in an interview, "I want to do the unexpected and i want to break barriers." His first solo effort was a collaboration with fellow rapper Tinchy Stryder, on the lead single from his fourth studio album, Full Tank, entitled Spaceship. He later revealed his debut solo single, "No Regrets", and announced that his debut solo record would be entitled "Dare To Dream".[4] "Rockstar" was later revealed as the album's second single. Other material confirmed for the album includes a collaboration with boyband The Wanted, a track premired during Dappy's first solo tour, entitled "I Won't Remember", a cover of "We Will Rock You", entitled "Rock You", and the album's title track, "Dare To Dream".
