However, halfway during the filming, she was married and lead actor [[M. G. Ramachandran]] decided not to maintain her in the film, fearing fan disagreements. Filming for Adimai Penn began in 1968. B. Saroja Devi was initially cast as the lead actress. Many of her scenes were also shot. However, halfway during the filming, she was married and lead actor M. G. Ramachandran decided not to maintain her in the film, fearing fan disagreements. All the scenes featuring Saroja Devi were eventually deleted, and subsequently Jayalalithaa was cast as the lead female, appearing in a dual role.[1]
