The United States Air Force 154th Wing (154 WG) is the operational component of the Hawaii Air National Guard. It is stationed at Hickam Field, Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii.
Overview
The 154 WG is probably the most unique composite wing in the USAF, consisting of fighter, air refueling, airlift and Air Defense Radar units. Due to its diverse organization, it has multiple missions:
- Fighter: To provide fighter coverage for the Hawaiian Islands and surrounding areas.
- Air Refueling: To provide aircraft which can refuel planes en route to various locations around the Pacific Ocean.
- Airlift: To provide support and planes which will help transfer cargo during peacetime, wartime, and times of emergency.
- Radar: Provide information to the Hawaii Region Air Operations Center at Wheeler Army Airfield. The radar information is used for both military and civilian air traffic management.
