SuperCity is an official subscription-only website, created and run by British boyband McFly. The website features a range of content exclusive to the site, as well early releases of the band's upcoming material. The website was unvieled on October 1, 2010.

Background

SuperCity was first rumoured on July 9, 2010, when the band mysteriously posted a number of symbols via their Twitter and Tumblr accounts. On July 12, 2010, Tom Fletcher announced that the symbols were going to feature on 'SuperCity', a revoultionary new website, that was designed to be a way for fans of the world to connect with the band, and the band to reward the fans in return. On July 13, all of the group's official websites closed, with only a 'coming soon' image featuring the symbols and an overview of SuperCity appearing. On July 13, 2010, The Sun and Heat Magazine both premiered a promotional shot of the band for the site. On July 14, a press conference involving the band premiered three songs from their new album, as well as inviting Critics to try out SuperCity and discuss upcoming events with the band. On August 6, the band premiered a trailer for their upcoming short film, 'Nowhere Left To Run'. They also announced they would premiere tracks from the album on the site before the album's release. Following the release of the group's single, Party Girl, the band announced that SuperCity would open on October 1, 2010, at 10:01am. On September 27, the band announced details regarding what members would get for joining the site. They mentioned that membership to the site would cost £40 a year, or a monthly rolling cost of £6 if applicants could not afford the full cost straight away. It was also announced that the first 10,000 members to sign up to the site would recieve extra benefits. On October 1, when the site was launched, many problems occured to a high number of people attempting to access the site. Some fans were unable to log in and check out the site, while others struggled to complete payment for membership. Danny Jones announced later that day that due to techincal difficulties, the site would be closed until these were rectified. The announced that due to this error, the band would pioneer new content on their previous official websites. The site re-opened on October 13, following the rectification of errors. Later that evening, the band premiered their short film Nowhere Left to Run on the site. They also announced that the number of members to recieve extra benefits would be increased from 10,000 to 20,000 following high demand. It was also announced that Supercity would re-open on November 1.
