Princess Royal Barracks (ICAO: ETUO) is a military airfield located in Germany, about 4 miles west-northwest of Gütersloh (Nordrhein-Westfalen); approximately 200 miles west of Berlin.
The facility was established in 1933 as a civil airport, being turned into a Luftwaffe airfield in 1937. During World War II it was used primarily as a bomber airfield, being captured by American forces at the end of the war and briefly used as a combat airfield by the USAAF. Turned over to the Royal Air Force in June 1945, the airfield became RAF Station Gütersloh. During the Cold War, Gütersloh remained the only RAF fighter station east of the Rhine River.
