After his father's death in 1397, the Dowager Duchess Katharina moved with their children to Kożuchów, who, together with Zielona Góra, was her Oprawa wdowia. Between 1397-1401 the official custody of the princes and the regency of the Duchy was held by Duke Rupert I of Legnica. The two older brothers principality ruled jointly, but the real ruler Głogowskiego duchy remained Henryk IX. His brother (Henryk X) remains at the service of the king of Czech, Hungarian and German Emperor Sigismund Luksemburczyka under whose orders he fought with husytami and posłował to Denmark (near kinswoman planned to marry a Danish king Eric of Pomerania, however, marriage does not occur, because the X Henryk died in 1423 in during the negotiations).
