The 22d Bombardment Squadron is an inactive United States Air Force unit. It was last assigned to the 341st Bombardment Group, based at Camp Kilmer, New Jersey. It was inactivated on 2 November 1945.

Operational History

Antisubmarine patrols off California coast, 8-c. 10 Dec 1941. Deployed to Philippine Air Force for defense of islands, aircraft flew into Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, 7 Dec 1941. Engaged in combat in Southwest Pacific, c. 13 Jan-c. 1 Mar 1942; detachment under control of USN in combat from the Fiji Islands and Australia, 14 Feb-c. 14 Mar 1942. Surviving B-17 aircraft and personnel reassigned to other units in Australia, March 1942 and unit reassigned w/o/p/e to United States for re-equipping and remanning as medium bomber squadron. Deployed to Tenth Air Force for combat in CBI, 14 Dec 1942-25 Jul 1945.
