Neactaeonina inexpectata is a species of small sea snail, a predatory marine gastropod mollusc in the family Acteonidae, the barrel bubble snails.
Distribution
This species is endemic to New Zealand. It is found off the Otago coast of the South Island, and the Chatham Islands.
Habitat
This bubble snail is found at depths of between 280 and 640 m.
Shell description
The shell is small, oval, with a gently curved columella, without a fold. The surface is cut into somewhat irregular spiral ridges by straight-sided narrow furrows.
The maximum shell height is 4.5 mm, and width 2.2 mm.
