Bittium laevicordatum is a species of small marine gastropod mollusc in the family Cerithiidae, the cerithids.
Distribution
This cerithid is endemic to New Zealand, found only at the Three Kings Islands.
Habitat
This species is found at depths of about 260 m.
Shell description
The shell is elongated, narrow, with gently rounded whorls. The protoconch has one and a half smooth whorls. The post-nuclear whorls are sculptured with linear-spaced, flattened spiral cords, and there is no axial sculpture.
Coloration is creamy-buff with a few pale brownish spots.
Height is up to 4 mm, and width is up to 1.5 mm.
