La Junta Municipal Airport (IATA: LHX, ICAO: KLHX) is a public access airport located 3 miles north of La Junta, Colorado.

It is owned and operated by the city of La Junta, Colorado.

History

The airport was opened in April 1940 as Lu Janta Army Air Field and was used by the United States Army Air Forces as a training base. At the end of the war the airfield was determined to be excess by the military and turned over to the local government for civil use.
