Operational History
World War II
Constituted as 470th Bombardment Group (Heavy) on 22 Apr 1943. Activated on 1 May 1943. Assigned to Second AF; reassigned to Fourth AF in Jan 1944. Equipped with B-24's. Served first as an operational training and later as a replacement training unit.
Disbanded on 31 Mar 1944.
