It was the second single released from the album.

According to Loveless: "... The title of my album, was supposed to be "Here I Am," but when I thought about it, I felt that it was inappropriate. Here I Am was like.. Here I Am! You know, and here's Patty Loveless.. and I'm not that way. I really am not. Actually, I tend to be a little shy at times and I felt that title really didn't fit me. It didn't fit what the album was about, and I felt that it was too egotistic. I don't think I'm that way.

This is a wonderful Tony Arata song about heartaches; it seems that they never die. It could be a very close relationship that has fallen apart. With the words, "... carry a flame for you, burnin' me like a brand", you can see this person has really never stopped thinking about the other, and just can't get over it. Do you sense that this person also may really be ready so say, 'Come on back, I made a mistake.' "And my pride was stronger when I was younger. Now I'd rather have you to know, that here I am....."

The song charted for 19 weeks on the Billboard Hot Country Singles and Tracks chart, reaching #4 during the week of 18 Feburary 1995.
