Notoplax latalamina is a species of chiton in the family Acanthochitonidae.
Distribution
This species is endemic to Stephen Island in the Cook Strait area of New Zealand.
Habitat
This chiton lives at depths of about 200 m on sponges.
Description
The girdle is extremely wide and spongy, greatly reducing the external surface of the valves.
Coloration of the valves is pale fawn, and the girdle is brownish-grey.
