The Polestar 5 (legally known as The Polestar Polestar 5) is a prototype high-performance battery electric executive sedan to be produced by Swedish automobile manufacturer Volvo Cars and sold under the Polestar brand.
As of 2024, the Polestar 5 is expected to become commercially available in 2027.[1]
Overview
The Polestar 5 was first previewed by the 2020 Polestar Precept concept car.[2][3] In June 2022, a prototype for the Polestar 5 was shown at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.[4]
The Polestar 5 is based on the Sustainable Experience Architecture 1 (SEA) platform, also used by the upcoming Polestar 4 SUV.[4]
Specifications
The dual electric motor powertrain of the Polestar 5 will produce 872 hp (650 kW) and 900 N⋅m (660 lb⋅ft) of torque.[4] The vehicle will be equipped with batteries developed and manufactured by SK On.[5]
