This album marks his return to music after his previous album ''[[In Technicolor (Jesse McCartney album)|In Technicolor]]'' released in 2014. Before the release of this album, McCartney released a [[live album]], ''The Resolution Tour Live'', which contained one unreleased song from the album, as a teaser of what fans could expect from his upcoming album.
