Military Engineer Services also known as (MES) is a military engineering organization of the Bangladesh Armed Forces under the Ministry of Defence of Bangladesh.As the Public Works Department (PWD) assists in the works of the general public and government works, this organization only assists in the works of the Armed forces of Bangladesh. All cantonments of Bangladesh have a unit of this organization named "GE/AGE (Army/Navy/Air)". This organisation is responsible for the construction, development and maintenance of cantonments, institutions, educational institutions of the Provisional Forces of Bangladesh. Besides, this organization has special contribution in various government projects. Its headquarters is located at Army Headquarters E in C's branch office in Dhaka Cantonment. [1][2][3]
Activities
MES is responsible for the construction and maintenance of all cantonments, temporary force educational institutions, organizations in Bangladesh. MES has a role in the construction of major projects of Bangladesh Army, Bangladesh Navy and Bangladesh Air Force. Some of these projects are mentioned below: 1. Army Central Mosque in Dhaka Cantonment 2. Army Auditorium and Conference Complex 3. Army Auditorium and Conference Complex 4.500 bedded Kurmitola General Hospital 5. Armed Forces Medical College 6.
