{{AFC comment|1=Revised article to meet WP:NBAND, which stipulates that bands may be notable if they meet at least one of the following criteria, backed up by independent, reliable, verifiable sources:
1. Has been the subject of multiple, non-trivial, published works appearing in sources that are reliable, not self-published, and are independent of the musician or ensemble itself: the band has received dedicated coverage in The Guardian and The Quietus.
2. Has had a single or album on any country's national music chart: see Discography section.
3. Has had a record certified gold or higher in at least one country: probably not, at least, not in the UK.
4. Has received non-trivial coverage in independent reliable sources of an international concert tour, or a national concert tour in at least one sovereign country: the band supported Depeche Mode on their 2017 Europe tour.
5. Has released two or more albums on a major record label or on one of the more important indie labels: Fiction Records released both their albums.
6. Is an ensemble that contains two or more independently notable musicians, or is a musician who has been a reasonably prominent member of two or more independently notable ensembles: no.
7. Has become one of the most prominent representatives of a notable style or the most prominent of the local scene of a city: not that I know of.
8. Has won or been nominated for a major music award: nominated for best breakthrough act in the 2017 Q Awards (one of two redlinks in the list of nine nominated bands).
9. Has won first, second, or third place in a major music competition: they were nominated, but didn't win.
10. Has performed music for a work of media that is notable, such as a theme for a network television show, performance in a television show or notable film, inclusion on a notable compilation album: I guess their songs have been used in a few shows on Netflix, Starz, and Hulu, though I haven't added it to the article as this isn't their main claim to fame.
11. Has been placed in rotation nationally by a major radio or music television network: almost certainly, though it'll be a pain to find a citation for this.
12. Has been a featured subject of a substantial broadcast segment across a national radio or television network: the band performed Dragonfly on Later... with Jools Holland on BBC Two. I can add that to the article if other editors think it's important enough to mention?

Pumarosa are an English electronic rock band formed in North London in 2014.[1] They have described their sound as "industrial spiritual".[1]

A Guardian reviewer of a live Pumarosa performance in 2016 called them the "missing link between Joy Division and Pendulum".[2]

History

The band was started by Isabel Munoz-Newsome (vocals, guitar) and Nicholas Owen (drums), and expanded to include Henry Brown (bass), Tomoya Suzuki (electronics) and Neville James (lead guitar).[3] Brown departed some time after the release of their first album, and bass for the second album was provided by Justin Chancellor of Tool.[4]

Pumarosa have toured the United Kingdom and internationally, travelling North America and Europe with Glass Animals in 2016, opening for Interpol in Mexico City, and supporting Depeche Mode's 2017 winter tour of Europe.[5][6] They were nominated for best breakthrough act at the 2017 Q Awards.[7]

The concept of their first album was inspired by the vocalist's reading of Caliban and the Witch by Silvia Federici.[8] The week of the album's release, Munoz-Newsome was diagnosed with cervical cancer, undertaking surgery two weeks later.[9] The second album was more personal, reflecting Munoz-Newsome's recovery and changes to band members' relationships.[10]
