Bondi Tsunami is a 2004 feature length road movie about the Japanese surfing subculture in Australia. The film is inspired by young Japanese tourists that come to Australia on working holiday visas, in search of sun, surf, and salvation.The tagline for the movie is: "The first Japanese surfing road movie in Australia." The film is directed by Rachael Lucas.

Rachael Lucas is a young Australian director who is said to be at the forefront of the digital guerilla filmmaking revolution. She is known for her unique visual style and has a background in documentary and music video. Bondi Tsunami is Rachael's first feature as writer/director. [1]

The plot of Bondi Tsunami is quite a simple one. Shark and Yuto are on a road trip around Autralia, surfing, smoking and drinking. They meet up with Kimiko and the mysterious Gunja Man before driving to many famous Australian landmarks. [2]

The cast of the film includes: Keita Abe, Taki Abe, Nobuhisa Ikeda, and Miki Sasaki.
