Forger

Warnerke was a successful forger of several eastern European currencies, Russian roubles in particular, though was never caught.[5][6] His supposed death in 1900 at the age of 63- he likely also faked to avoid arrest.

Legacy

The preserved collections and valuable instruments of Warnerke, in the possession of the inventor's daughter, were incinerated during World War II in the bombing of London by the Luftwaffe.

Awards

Malachowski was awarded the Progress Medal of the Photographic Society of Great Britain (known as Royal Photographic Society today) in 1882.[7][3][1]
