The entity currently known as "Smith & Wesson" was created in 1856 by those same 2 partners after both had left the original company. While it's perhaps fair to say the history of "Smith & Wesson" relates back to 1852, the actual entity described did not exist before 1856. The first was identified as being related to USB 2.0. The second was related to "SuperSpeed" - which is only in USB 3.0 and up - so I felt adding ("USB 3.0)" and the math clarified the statement.
