Dagestan is more preferable and making sense and easier geographically more easy to understand for some people, it's located into the North Caucasus, but at the same time, a large amount of Mountain Jews came from Dagestan to Israel. So the term "Dagestan" is more preferable and easier to understand and to point out. Tags: Mobile edit Mobile web edit

Persian Jews lived in the ancient (and until the mid-20th century still extant) communities not only of Iran, but also the Armenian, Georgian, Iraqi, Bukharan, and Mountain Jewish communities'. 'Mountain Jews, or Jews of the Caucasus, have inhabited the Caucasus since the fifth century CE. Being the descendants of the Persian Jews of Iran, their migration from Persia proper to the Caucasus took place in the Sasanian era (224–651).' Tags: Mobile edit Mobile web edit
