At the very least this section and reference 24 Wells (1982), p. 348. should be highly qualified as being of limited relevance.

- 14:0214:02, 22 January 2021 diff hist −27 m Highgate I have removed Transport for London's Highgate Station recorded message pronunciation of Highgate as "Higgit". No-one pronounces Highgate that way. People on the tube often laugh at the announcement, it's so wrong. It's also wrong to mislead people from all around the world about how real people pronounce a word, compared to a weirdly wrong recorded message.
- 13:5313:53, 22 January 2021 diff hist +143 m List of highest points in London The height previously given for Highgate Hill was wrong because it was based on the wrong HIghgate Hill, taken from a website based on various hills in the UK which the author admits he had not climbed and asked for feedback about whether he was right or wrong! The highest point in Highgate is either the Gatehouse at the southern end of North Road or Hillcrest, off the northern end of North Road. I have included both sources. North Road is pretty flat, so it hardly matters - only 2m difference.

- 12:5412:54, 22 January 2021 diff hist −54 m Highgate There is no view across London from North Hill, even if the highest point in Highgate is apparently just off the top of North Hill. The notable view of the City of London, as for instance seen by Dick Whittington before he turned back and became Mayor of London, is from Highgate Hill, or the part of Highgate High Street just north of the top of Highgate Hill (a continuation of the same road but with a different name). The previous reference to the height of London was from a very odd source.
