20:0120:01, 18 May 2023 diff hist −19‎ m Soccer (1985 video game) ‎ I updated a source, as the copyright office doesn't dictate when a game released – for instance, if you go by Super Mario Bros.'s copyright filing, the game came out in September of 1985 and the manual came out in October. The closest official launch date I can extrapolate is from Computer Entertainer, which lists Balloon Fight and Gumshoe as August 1986 titles, but then officially categorizes them as releasing in September within their October issue. 07:1407:14, 3 March 2023 diff hist −492‎ Hogan's Alley (video game) ‎ Not only was the link broken on the citation stating that Hogan's Alley was the top grossing arcade cabinet in 1985, but two other pages (see "Karate Champ" and "1985 in video games") both cite the same broken source and claim that "Karate Champ" is the highest grossing game of 1985. I cannot find any other sources to confirm this information, but given that Hogan's Alley is listed as #5 on that page, I don't think the claim that it was the #1 best-seller is valid. The Computer Entertainer issue I cited has a review of the game and a confirmed release date in September of that year. The previous sources were speculation – Nintendo's website page is full of errors on when they released their first NES games (Soccer is slated as 1987 when it's confirmed to be 1985, and so on).
