They might have misunderstood the law or the facts. They might be posturing for political reasons. Equally of course, the UK might be wrong in its assertion to the contrary. Surely we should therefore mention the Bangladeshi claim - but say (correctly) it is disputed. (Also, on reading the sources, I agree you're right that she is still British).
