Guiana Space Centre (French: Centre Spatial Guyanais or CSG) is a spaceport near Kourou in French Guiana. Operational since 1968, its location is particularly suitable for a spaceport due to its proximity to the equator, and to the water over which spacecraft launched in the favourable direction ascend. The European Space Agency, the French space agency CNES, and the commercial company Arianespace launch vehicles from CSG. (more...)
