Patrick Gamble (born 5 October 2003) is an English professional footballer who plays as a defender for National League club AFC Fylde, on loan from EFL Championship club Blackburn Rovers.

Club career

[edit]

Gamble joined Blackburn Rovers at under-7s level,[4] and on 21 June 2022, he signed his first professional contract; penning a one-year deal until the summer of 2023.[5] On 27 May 2023, after captaining the under-21's side at Blackburn to safety in Premier League 2, Gamble signed a new two-year contract that runs until the summer of 2025, with an option of a further year.[6]

On 30 August 2023, Gamble made his professional debut for Blackburn, as he played 80 minutes in the Second Round of the Carabao Cup against Harrogate Town; being replaced by Tom Atcheson, with Rovers winning the game 8–0 at the Exercise Stadium.[4][7] He made his FA Cup debut on 6 January 2024, coming on as 91st-minute substitute for Callum Brittain during the Third Round tie against Cambridge United in which The Riversiders would run out 5–2 winners.[8][9][4]

On 10 August 2024, Gamble was loaned out National League side AFC Fylde on a season-long loan.[10][11] He made his debut for The Coasters later the same day, coming on as a 77th-minute substitute for Emeka Obi during a 3–2 win against Solihull Moors at Mill Farm on the opening day of the campaign.[12][13][14]
