The Măgheruș (also: Aluniș, Hungarian: Magyarós-patak) is a small river in the Gurghiu Mountains, Harghita County, central Romania. It is a left tributary of the river Mureș.[1][2] It flows through the municipality Toplița, and joins the Mureș in the village Măgheruș (part of Toplița),[3] where it is channelized. Its length is 12 km (7.5 mi) and its basin size is 29 km2 (11 sq mi).[2] Its name is from the Hungarian "mogyoró", and means "Nutty Creek".
