The origins of this photo are worth noting. It was taken without credit from my site, here: http://www.cayzle.com/screeds/lion005.html. It is a scan from "Mesopotamian Protective Spirits: The Ritual Texts, (Cuneiform Monographs, 1)," by F. A. M. Wiggermann, and published in 1992. The image was scanned from that text and sent to me in 2004 for use online by Prof. John M. Russell, Chair, Critical Studies Department, Massachusetts College of Art, Boston, Mass. -- Cayzle
