Correction to description[edit]

There are no Poles in the painting.

The cavalry depicted are mostly British 10th Hussars - Scarlet shako (hat) with a white band around the top, and blue hussar uniforms. One French Imperial Guard Lancer is shown in a red czapska (hat) and red uniform, but the Polish element of the Guard Lancers had blue uniforms, so the man depicted is probably of Dutch nationality. Additionally there is a single French curassier, with possibly another two behind him, in the middle distance to the right of centre. The infantry are: British - bottom left - possibly Guards, one of whom is bayoneting a French Grenadier a Pied of the Imperial Guard (bearskin headdress with brass plate), French a couple of French line infantry (bell-topped shakos with "V" shaped lace on the sides) fighting in the centre, and in the left middle distance part of a square composed of Grenadiers a Pied of the French Imperial Guard.Urselius (talk) 09:26, 22 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, the blue uniforms are of the British Viviene's Brigade. Twobells (talk) 20:38, 31 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
