This depiction of the W88 is deeply flawed.[edit]

The W88 is (famously) peculiar to the Trident II (D5) UGM-133A. Which is another way of saying that, contrary to the portrayal in the image and accompanying text, the LGM-118A “Peacekeeper” was never fitted with the W88. Not even a little bit. Not even sometimes.

Furthermore, the W88's yield is strangely depicted as 350 kt. The maximum yield of the W88 is almost universally quoted as 475 kt. This relatively high yield for its class is one of the W88's more outstanding characteristics. Even taking it for granted that the W88 is a variable yield device and that it would permit such a setting, the figure of 350 kt is pointlessly arbitrary and even mildly deceptive in this context.

(In any event, evidence would suggest that no one else really cares. I sometimes reproach myself for bothering, but it seems that there are some lessons I’ll never learn.) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Criticality (talkcontribs) 06:38, 10 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I think it was meant to be W87. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 140.247.240.177 (talk) 20:50, 16 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
