Doubt over authenticity of this picture.

The picture here http://catalogue.statelibrary.tas.gov.au/item/?id=168684 is a painting in the State Library of Tasmania, which purported shows the ship "Wanderer" which was owned by Benjamin Boyd, a flamboyant entrepreneur in Australia in the 1840's. The Wanderer was wrecked on the shore of New South Wales in 1850.

It's very strange that this picture is identical to the picture depicting the last US slave ship Wanderer, and I suspect that the identification of one of the ships to this picture is wrong. Not sure which one, though.Eregli bob (talk) 17:27, 12 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Seems likely that this is indeed Boyd's "Wanderer", not the American one it is purported to be. See https://lists.queensu.ca/cgi-bin/listserv/wa?A2=ind1102&L=MARHST-L&T=0&F=&S=&P=81149 Davidships (talk) 21:40, 22 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
