The Senate House remain closed for public. It was opened just two times in the last 10 years. The picture represents inaugural National Handloom Day, when it was opened after a decade and visited by PM of India. You did not state this was a public domain image, but instead stated it is copyrighted. Do you have proof that this is a PD image? -- Whpq (talk) 02:49, 6 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, the image is PD. It was posted by an official government twitter handle.[1] I have mentioned the original source of the image found of Government of India (PM) website, which is copyrighted work of the Government of India, licensed under the Government Open Data License - India (GODL). Can you help me to reupload the image under the GODL? [2]Cite error: There are <ref> tags on this page without content in them (see the help page).
Being under GODL would not make the image public domain, but it would make the image freely licensed. I am not familiar enough with GODL to be sure. I've posted a question at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions to see if other editors with more knowledge on the matter can weigh in. -- Whpq (talk) 16:20, 6 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Agree, GODL images are copyright work but can be uploaded on Wikipedia, there are dozens of examples here. Most of these images are a public event images, similar this one. Also, I want to know if an official handle on twitter or Facebook post an image, does it fall under Creative Commons? Neurofreak (talk) 19:45, 6 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
