Canada[edit]

The current colouring of Canada is nonsense. French is official federally throughout the country, but provincially only in Quebec and New Brunswick, not Ontario. Depending on the intent of this map, either Ontario should be removed or all of Canada should be added.

He does have a point. I agree with him. OmnipotentArchetype0309 (talk) 20:31, 24 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I agree as well, there are articals here in Wikipedia that can back RadRafe as well. -- sion8 0:35, 24 September 2012 (UTC)
Also I think there are substantial Spanish speakers in New England, New York and other states in the eastern coast of the USA to shade those in the lighter yellow like the western, southwestern parts of the USA. -- sion8 00:40, 24 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Coloring Scheme[edit]

What is the coloring scheme of this map? It seems as if the countries with more Latin linguistic influence are colored the deeper shade of yellow. However, parts of other countries are shaded the same shade of yellow, yet they are just subdivisions. Likewise, for the other shade of yellow, some countries have been filled in all the way while others are partially shaded. What consistency is there to this map? In addition, I see bits of brown and blue on the map...are they supposed to represent something? OmnipotentArchetype0309 (talk) 20:37, 30 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I feel I need clarification[edit]

Hispanic world
Latin world

In the "Spanish language" page of Wikipedia the map of the Hispanic world it shows many more parts of the United States as having a large population of Spanish speakers yet they were not shown on this map of the Latin world; my question is: is it because of the number of the population the reason not shown or because they may not be official within the State? sion8 (talk) 22:40, 09 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed, many more parts of the United States have large populations of Spanish speakers and should be colored yellow, if that's the criteria being used. At a minimum, California, the entire southwestern United States, and New York state should be highlighted. O.M. Nash (talk) 20:04, 27 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
